Technology for Middle School Students

Friday, February 3rd, 2006

I’ve been doing some research for a technology presentation at the upcoming National Association of Extension Community Development Professionals’ annual meeting this month and came across this interesting post on teaching technology to middle school students. Since my presentation is focused on how an Extension Professional that is not a techie (me) can use technology to improve their personal management and outreach, I thought starting with a presentation for middle school students would be perfect. I’m thinking that the average middle school kid is likely to be more tech savvy than me. I know for sure they can text message a lot faster than I can. So I was first a little disappointed to see that it really was a cartoon parody. Then I start to watch it. Then I started to laugh. Then one of our support staff members stuck her head in my office to make sure I was OK.

So for a good mid-work day chuckle, click on the post, then select the technology link in the upper left hand side of the screen. Be sure to turn your speakers on, and then enjoy!
